Nasya karma is the administration of a medicated preparation through the nasal passage. It is one of the classical routes, with its own indications, its own timing, and its own contraindications — and it is the one people are most likely to try on their own after reading about it.
What the practice looks like
The preparation is warmed to body temperature. The person lies back with the head tilted slightly downward, a small number of drops go into each nostril, and they breathe in steadily and rest for a minute or two before sitting up. That is the whole of it, described plainly.
Why the first time matters
The description above is easy to follow and easy to get subtly wrong — the angle of the head, the temperature, the number of drops, and above all whether it is appropriate at all on a given day. A practitioner corrects those in about five minutes. A web page cannot.
When not to
Not with a cold or a blocked nose. Not immediately after eating or bathing. Not during pregnancy without direct supervision. And not at all if you are unsure whether it suits you — which is a question for a vaidya, not for a product page.
We would rather sell one jar to someone using it properly than three to people guessing. If you are considering nasya and have not done it before, message us and we will talk it through first.
